Alexandra Blakely, born on Duwamish territory, left home for Mexico in 2005 to do some existential searching. Along this journey she found hundreds of songs that lived within her that wanted to be sung and so, she began to sing. She discovered that between the amalgamation of melodies and lyrics weaved together she was creating a path to healing her soul and ancestral lineage. She unearthed the power in song that similar to prayer, can propel the solidification of realities.

Blakely writes to the composted, the midwifing of cycles into death, rebirth into awareness and empowerment, ecological justice and spiritual inquiry. She returned to Duwamish territory in early 2017 to share her internal explorations, cultivate community, connect circles and ultimately participate in the regeneration of life.
